Hello lovelies, today I will be discussing fifteen old Hollywood beauty secrets from your favorite movie stars from the golden age of Hollywood.

Marilyn Monroe would have her makeup artist apply five different shades of red lipstick to make her lips appear fuller with more dimension. The darker reds went on the outer corners while the lighter hues were brushed in the middle of the lips.

After Audrey Hepburn applied mascara, she would use a pink to separate her individual lashes to get long clump-free lashes.

  1. Idk if this sounds weird but there is something soothing about how you demonstrated some of the tips very delicately over the vintage photos.

  2. I had the sofia loren book and in the book her beauty secrets she wrote that she applied make up only in the areas of her face were it was needed.

  3. I love how cleverly you ‘used’ relevant items on each photo to help picture it being used – excellent planning and execution.

  4. Another thing about Gloria Grahame's upper lip: she had so much plastic surgery that it caused nerve damage, which paralyzed it and affected her speech. Her costars hated kissing her. You can really see this in the films she made with Fritz Lang.

  5. I believe Marilyn Monroe also shaved her face. I use the lipliner trick to make my rather thin lips look fuller — just go slightly (key word here is "SLIGHTLY") outside your natural lip line. If you overdo it, it will look stupid.

  6. I’ve done the same mascara trick as Audrey Hepburn with clumps, but I use a toothpick. But I don’t do EVERY lash. Another tip for the lashes to look less clumpy is to not coat the very end of your lashes (the end that’s away from your eye) as that’s where they tend to clump and thicken, and it’s more noticeable there

  7. My favorite Golden Age Hollywood actresses:

    Yvonne De Carlo
    Rita Hayworth
    Debra Paget
    Hedy Lamarr
    Judy Garland
    Julie Andrews
    Ingrid Bergman

  8. These are all beauty/makeup techniques makeup artists still use today❤️

  9. No Joan Crawford? She used to wash her face with lavander oil on ice after rubbing it with hot water

  10. Funny how things today are marketed as a new concept, like eye gloss, but it’s a very similar concept to have shiny eyelids. Most women contour their forehead to make it smaller but Ingrid made hers bigger. I wonder how they would look without their secrets, like Vivian not over lining her lips, Ingrid with more hair, Marylin with one shade of lipstick, better yet, pastel pink! I like how you demonstrate on the pictures.

  11. It would be so interesting if you made a video all about iconic Bond girls from the earlier movies ❤️

  12. I'd like you to research on Maria Montes and do a favorites video on her. She was considered The Queen of Technicolor. She was acted in Arabian Nights as Scherezade in 1941. I hope that you could do it one day. 💞

  13. Very fun watching this and yes I've used vaseline under my makeup to give my skin a glow. Also have used olive oil in my hair…you mix olive oil and honey and comb it through and cover with saran and sit under heat for 15 minutes then wash it out. Coconut oil is a good for your face to refine pores and helps acne. ❤🥀

  14. i use the shaving the fave one:) it works very well! i think the makeup sticks to your skin better because it has a more solid application. this technique makes makeup last so much longer!!

  15. Most of these are good enough ideas, but not the Audrey Hepburn one! Do not use a pin to separate your lashes! You could injure yourself that way. Instead by a spoolie brush and use it on your lashes once your mascara dries. I do this every time I wear mascara.

  16. You know you're addicted to vintage things when you've heard almost all of these things. 😂

  17. Cool interview with Mae West on Dick Cavett show (1970's) just before she passed away . She was very interesting . Check it out !

  18. I read about Sophia Loren's beauty tip years ago and I use it daily! Sometimes I'll even mix olive oil and the current lotion I'm using for a super boost of moisture after a shower. In my opinion, the olive oil gives your skin a very nice glow! Also, make sure you use one that's not the "robust" kind. I did and ended up smelling like a salad for a while lol

  19. These women went through war and the depresion and loss. I thought of their experiences when watching your beauty video. So relevent today.

  20. Another great video. I read that Jean Harlow applied her face creams with an ice cube. She believed it made her products work better and made her skin tighter. She was only 26 when she died, how much tightening could she have needed?
