Borracho: Spanish for Drunken Bum by Abe Zapata Jr. makes its debut at the Actors Company for two weekends from January 31st to February 9th. Over the last year Borracho has been performed and refined through multiple stage readings in Los Angeles and a successful run at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2019, winning Q Youth Productions a No Room in the Green Room Award sponsored by MB Stage Productions.

Join the gayest party this winter and gasp at the drama, laugh at the shade and reads, and as audiences have put it, become a “fly on the wall” for a hot mess of a birthday party.

Play Synopsis:
Miguel invites a select group of friends, including an old high school crush, over for his friend Gerardo’s birthday. His plans for the night are quickly derailed as the alcohol flows, surprise visitors show up, and secrets are revealed. The group must then face their unresolved issues surrounding race, sexuality, and feelings towards one another.
